About LYC-Toronto
LYC - Toronto is an affiliate member of the Long Yang Club International a non-profit, all-volunteer international organization established in cities around the world.
Although each is independently managed, all share the same name and similar objective of being social clubs for Asian and non-Asian gays.
LYC-Toronto is primarily a club for gay men, but anyone of age 18 or older is welcome who is supportive of the Club's Mission Statement and who agrees to abide by our Policy on Sexual Harassment.
The organization is named after Lord Long Yang, the lover of an emperor, referred to in Chinese literature from the Zhou dynasty. For more on this, look here.
"Long Yang Club - Toronto is a social club for gay people of Asian and non-Asian ancestry. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment of mutual respect, acceptance and friendship. We welcome members of all races, cultures and backgrounds."
Our Logo resembles the Chinese "Yin Yang"
symbol. The two hands - the East & the West are holding on to each other. We have taken the original concept and added the Toronto skyline showing the CN Tower and the Skydome, the Chinese characters for Long Yang Club-Toronto, Canadian maple leaves and the colour blue which is Toronto's signature colour.

LYC chapters can also be found in many other cities around the world.
LYC - Toronto recognizes memberships from other chapters of LYC International and vice-versa.
We have enjoyed a wide variety of events throughout
the years including the following:

- pool
- potluck dinners
- skating
We are trying to create an environment for singles and couples who are looking for an alternative social outlet to the bar scene.
Our members come from various backgrounds, encompassing a diverse cross-section of age groups, education, and employment backgrounds. Some people in the club may be completely out of the closet, others in the process of coming out, and some who are still very private about their sexual orientation. At LYC - Toronto, it doesn't matter which scenario applies to you.

LYC-Toronto aims at providing a safe environment where you can meet without the fear of sexual harassment. We are not a dating club or a place to cruise and pick up people. We are a social club, where you can make friends and network with other like-minded people. Of course, you may well meet your future partner at the club, but our primary goal is to provide a space where people can socialize, share common interests, build bridges between different cultures, and have fun.
Any member or guest seen to be indulging in overly aggressive or predatory behaviour towards other members or guests at a club event may be cautioned or asked to leave by a member of the Committee, and a member who persists in any type of unwanted sexual harassment may have his membership revoked and be denied access to future club events.
LYC-Toronto reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone deemed by a member of the Committee to be likely to contravene the above code of conduct.
This club is an all-volunteer organization. It is people like you, who hold
the power to determine the future of the club. If you find some events boring or have any new ideas, comments or suggestions, please voice your opinion!
If you wish to take advantage of your expertise in a particular area, or lead or organize an event that interests you, please contact DJ or Wesley. Remember, you're always very welcome to do so. After all, we're all here to make the club a better place to meet and have fun!
